Reporting a broken conversion
Bad conversions are the most useful thing you can send us, and they are the main reason we read this inbox. To make a report actionable, please include:
- the PDF you converted, or a public link to it, if the document is shareable;
- what you expected the Markdown to look like;
- what you actually got, and whether any text appeared at all;
- your browser and operating system.
Please do not send confidential or personal documents. If a file is private, describe its structure instead — for example "two-column academic paper, 12 pages" — and we will try to reproduce it with a similar public file.
What we can and cannot help with
We can help with how this site behaves: conversions that fail, downloads that do not save, links that will not load, or questions about what the tool does.
We cannot help with the PDFs themselves — reading a corrupted file, recovering a password, or fixing a scanned document that has no text layer. Those are limits of the file or of the underlying library, not setting we can change.
Other enquiries
For questions about how data is handled, including advertising and affiliate links, see the privacy policy, which explains the same email address for data requests. For background on the site and its testing, see about.
Before you write: the converter works entirely offline in your browser, so if nothing is happening after you pick a file, check that JavaScript is enabled — that accounts for most reported failures.
